News Event:

The 72nd meeting of the U.N. General Assembly will see the debut appearances of U.S. President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron on the world stage.

Wars in Syria and Yemen, North Korea’s rapidly advancing nuclear and ballistic missile programs, and political turmoil in Venezuela are certain to be a focus of discussions when the presidents, prime ministers and foreign ministers meet.

The first-ever treaty to prohibit nuclear weapons, which was adopted by more than 120 countries in July, will also open for signatures during the high-level meeting.
