* Iraq / IS Tunnel / Story #4061178
Kurdish Peshmerga fighters discovered an underground tunnel in the town of Badana on Monday, 17 October 2016, that they say was previously used by the Islamic State group.
Badana in northeastern Iraq was liberated after Iraqi military and the country's Kurdish forces launched operations to the south and east of militant-held Mosul early Monday morning. IS fighters are thought to have started building tunnels in the areas they've captured so that they could move around without being seen from above, especially following the launch of an air campaign against them by the US-led coalition forces.
