Oscars week began in Los Angeles with workers preparing Hollywood Boulevard for the red carpet rollout. The street outside the Kodak Theatre was closed to traffic on Tuesday (21 February) as workers laid down a mixture of sand and cement to reduce cracks in the pavement and made other preparations.
